When this project began, i was little confused why are we studying about colour , what is its importance and how will this help me in fashion design? I thought i knew everything about colour, but I was fascinated when I realised how major role a colour plays. This project helped me realise the importance of colour, which i failed to notice before. Recreating the colour swatches of everyday items made me understand the shades to a simple colour.

“Color is a power which directly influences the soul.” ~Wassily Kandinsk

This quote is rightly said, a colour can impact a human in a psychological manner.

I never would have known that orange / yellow/red are psychologically related to hunger.

Consciously i know pink , yellow, white, black are happy colours for me where as grey purple makes me disgust. It allowed me to expand my sense of colour and there association with feelings and emotions.

Colour plays an important role for brands to sell their products. Colours / Packaging attracts customers to buy a certain products even if a more good product is available in market , people now days are more influenced by packaging rather than quality or quantity of a product. I am so glad that we got to do this project otherwise i would have never known about the above colour the way i know now

.Different people have different perception of colours . When I say yellow what comes to your mind first? or when I say happiness which colour comes to your mind first ? For some people lemon will appear as soon as some says yellow or for some people yellow will come in their mind when someone will say happiness. I had colour green so, my perception will be different. For me green means nature, freshness, wealth, islamic religion etc, for other it will be different.

I never thought a colour can make a huge difference in movie scenes until we researched about it.

The final responsive writing is really easy i know about each and everything about colour and it was easy to put all my thoughts into one responsive writing. Unlike the school Method of teaching, which is based on book learning. I really appreciate the IIAD Teaching method which encourages us to learn through exploring everything .

We don’t realise how much colours effect our lives from buying a basic t-shirt to buying branded dresses we always look for colour ! COLOUR PSYCHOLOGY Color can dramatically affect moods, feelings, and emotions, It has a psychological impact on human brain. A red can . When people purchase a vehicle they tend to purchase according to climates for example :people who live in hot climates typically prefer light-colored vehicles over dark ones. COLOUR WHEEL The colour wheel was invented in 1666 by Isaac Newton.

There are 12 main colours on the colour wheel. It is divided into primary, secondary and tertiary colors.
